A new app called Feeture has launched with hopes of signing up lots of artists. No, it has nothing to do with Lily Allen. Feeture is all about collaborations, helping musicians to find one another for collabs based on genre, location and fees. However, the company will also provide the tools to negotiate terms, send payments and share files during the collaboration process.
Independent artist NLE Choppa has been signed up as the app’s first artist ambassador, with more to follow. “We want artists to focus on making music together – while leaving the administrative and legal challenges behind,” said CEO Jareiq ‘JQ’ Kabara, the former president and head A&R at Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation Entertainment.
For now, Feeture is available as an iPhone app, using a subscription model to make its money. Artists can pay $99.99 a year (or $19.99 a month) for its Standard tier, or $299.99 a year for a Premium tier whose features include “elite collaborations, premium events, boosted visibility”.
